About Me

I am a retired , divorced and avid Fly Fisherman and nature lover. I started my chequered career at an early age by being born in Yorkshire England. In 1947 my parents moved to the North of Scotland outside Inverness and luckily took me with them . In 1957 I was dragged kicking and screaming into the army ( National Service) and spent the following two years trying to be warlike. I spent nine months of those two years in the middle East in Yemen or Aden as it was then called. After being let out, and told I had been a good soldier ( HA! HA! ) I decided to emigrate to Canada. So, in 1963 I arrived in Montreal and absolutely fell in love with Canada.  After various adventures and growing old and creaky I moved from outside Toronto to where I live now in Kenora on the Lake of The Woods. in Northern Ontario This is a wildlife and fishing paradise. Mind you the winters are a wee bit nippy but, you get used to them . I have seen coyotes, bear, deer, fox beavers, moose,  bald eagles turkey vultures, skunk, and a host of other animals  in and around Kenora. At the moment wolves are following the white tailed deer into the suburbs which is scary. Bird life is interesting  and in the summer we are visited by Pelicans. veru glly but incredibly gracefull flying ! So, all in all I am one fortunate guy !
